Guru Purnima 13-07-2022

Om Sai!

Gurubrahma Guruvishnu Gururdevo Maheshwaraha |

Guruhu sakshaat Parambrahman tasmai Shrigurave namaha ||

“The guru is Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Shiva), veneration to the Guru who is Parabrahman manifest.”

By HIS grace, we have taken full care to accomodate all the events that happen in SHIRDI Sai Baba Anantha Aalayalam for this function.

Significance of Guru Purnima:

Guru-purnima festival was started with Baba’s permission during his time. This day is marked for offering worship to one’s spiritual Master with reverence and love. The temple is open for the whole night for darshan on main day. Various devotional programmes are conducted on this occasion.

Hindus attach paramount importance to spiritual Gurus. Gurus are often equated with God and always regarded as a link between the individual and the Immortal. Just as the moon shines by reflecting the light of the sun, and glorifies it, all disciples can dazzle like the moon by gaining from their Gurus.

The full moon day is observed as the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, a day sacred to the memory of the great Shri Shirdi Sai Baba. We seek your active participation as the Guru is 1000 times more active during this period, when compared to any other day during the year. Hence please consider this as your opportunity to dedicate yourselves to our beloved Baba.

Vijaya Dashami – Baba’s MahaSamadhi (The Crossing Over) 05-10-2022

Vijaya Dashami which means ‘overcoming ten bad habits’. The nine days of Navaratri prior to it help us achieve Vijaya Dashami- the victorious tenth day. Two great stories from our mythology also teach us the same. The killing of Ravana by Lord SriRama Chandra and the slaying of Demon Mahishasura by Goddess Durga Devi are great stories when taken literally. Each day in Navaratri, Devi takes one form to eliminate one of these ten bad qualities in us and that is why in every avatar she holds an elephant goad and a whip- to remind us that we should stay at her feet and realize that she will give us many chances to change and one should utilize those opportunities. Upon cleansing our heart from these, Devi sits in our heart. Sri Chakra which is said to have the same number of grooves as in our heart is her throne -in other words, we make our heart as her throne and thus lead a righteous life, concluding as Vijaya Dashami – the victorious tenth day.

Vijay Dashami was one important event in Baba’s life, so important that he breathed his last on the day of Vijaya Dashami. On this day in Shri Shirdhi Sai Baba Anantha Aalayalam, Putraiyadi special pooja is done and from Morning 10.00 am to 12.00 pm Nama Vaali of Baba goes on by the devotees.

Indra lokha Praksham (Divya Vibrations -Sunlight) on Baba’s feet 15-10-2022
